The
2007 Bailey's Day Golf Event will be in a new format "Canadian
Foursomes"
What’s
that?
In
Bailey's Day tradition the game is a pairs event and a team handicap
is used.
Canadian Foursomes is played with a partner and both players tee
off on all holes. The players then decide which ball is in the
best position and the other ball is taken out of play.
If
Player A hit the selected ball from the tee, then Player B will
hit the next shot or vice versa. Play continues on an alternate
basis until the hole is completed. Incurring a penalty shot does
not affect the order of play. The handicap of each team is calculated
by taking 3/8 of the aggregate team members' individual handicaps.
The handicap of each player must be shown on the card.
Since
Canadian Foursomes is a Stroke event, it is simply scored that
way on the card showing a gross and net score. The team with
the lowest score is the winner. Canadian Foursomes can be played
as mixed, men's or women's event and provides a fun variation of
Foursomes play.
So, pick an understanding partner and be a part of this great day!"

Around
250 people have attended lunch in the Woodlands Clubhouse in
each of the past three years. Ian Leslie will again host this
year’s
lunch with his customary grace, as participants enjoy the marvellous
meals put on by the Woodlands kitchen staff, before perusing
the items on offer in the silent auction.
Entertainment will be provided by Brian Cadd, who is on the cusp
of his first studio release in 20 years. Cadd, who was part of
two of the most celebrated bands of their day; The Groop and Axiom,
is responsible for such hits as 'A Little Ray of Sunshine' (1970)
and 'Ginger Man' (1972). As a solo artist, Brian Cadd was one of
the most prominent musicians on the local scene and he remains
a key figure in the history of Australian music to this day.
From
beginning to end, Bailey’s Day is an event not to be
missed, so register now to be a part of the fun.
